Welcome to Real Oilfield Wives!

Hello there, friends and fellow oilfield women! We’re glad you are here!

Real Oilfield Wives began as an idea between one of my best friends and I. We live in opposite sides of the country from each other {REALLY! We can literally follow a single highway from my house to hers, 1800 miles away!}, but we have so much in common. Our husbands are gone for weeks at a time, leaving us to tend the home and mind the children. As an oilfield wife/girlfriend/significant other, I’m sure you can relate to the loneliness, frustration, and difficulties that go hand-in-hand with our lifestyle. We recognize that women need a support system and hope that Real Oilfield Wives will bring just that -friends, fun, advice, and helpful information.

Now, let me give you the grand tour of Real Oilfield Wives! Our main page will feature several weekly posts on a variety of subjects -relationships, parenting, advice, shopping, organization, recipes -you name it! Sometimes, it will be content that Christy and I write, and sometimes we will feature content from YOU -the oilfield wives.

Check out the ABOUT page to find out who Christy and I are… we’re a little crazy and a lot fun!

The forums… ahhhh the FORUMS. This is where we want to hear from you! We have a place for you to share tips, advice, and good deals, as well as a place to vent your frustrations and ask for help. You might meet other oilfield wives in your area or find a few new blogs to follow! If you have something you would like to post or share, but remain anonymous, shoot an email to anonymous@realoilfieldwives.com, and we will post it on your behalf.

  1. this is such an awesome idea, now i have somewhere to talk to people that know what i’m going through and can relate to. thank god!

  2. ClaysWife says:

Great idea! I was sitting down to start a blog about being an oilfield wife! I looked and didn’t find much out there that is current. It takes an oilfield wife to understand an oilfield wife, marriage, and lifestyle.

  3. Elissa Steidley says:

So glad you have this sight off of FB….love it!

  4. I”m a reporter who is researching a story on oil field wives and their families. I grew up in the military and see many similarities. Are there any ROW’s with their family who would agree to an interview about what it’s like and what you do to say sane? Would have to live in Colorado. Thanks in advance.
