You Ask & ROW Answers: Wives Taking a Break

Hi there, Real Oilfield Wives! I have a question… Do any other wives/significant others take sort of a “vacation” when your man comes home? I feel so bad because I do. I get so exhausted with life, that when the hubby comes home, I let him get the kids ready for school and do the laundry. I feel like a bad wife. Please tell me I’m not alone on this.

  1. When my husband is on days off, I get up with the kids to get them ready for school and “try” to let him sleep in. With our noisy household, it doesn’t always work. Hah.

I do most of the cleaning, laundry, etc… but he does almost all of the cooking. For me, that is just fine. I hate cooking! That in itself is a huge break for me.

He helps and plays with the kids, too. Plus, I make him run errands with me. 🙂

  2. I sort of do that. My one treat is that I let my hubby brush my boy’s teeth everyday when he’s home. (They are both too small to do it themselves.) Since I do it for two weeks straight when he’s gone I take a “vacation” from that chore.
