The 7 most annoying people on Facebook

I am a facebooker. It helps me feel connected to friends and family that I am far away from. Being an Northern Oilfield Wife in Alaska,  I live 3,000 miles away from all of my family and many of my friends. I enjoy “seeing” what they are up to and sharing our latest with them.  Those are good things about facebook, but there are also some not-so-good things, too, like those seven really annoying people that we all know…..
  1.  The Bragger.  “I have the perfect job/house/life/husband/kids”.  Are they fishing for compliments?  Are they trying to make themselves look good? Who knows.  We all have good days, we all like to share the good things that happen….but some people take it too far.
  2.  The Complainer – the opposite of the bragger (and just as annoying). They never stop whining about how they have the worst job/house/life/husband/kids…etc. We all have bad days, and we all need to vent –  but you don’t need to drag everyone else down with you.
  3.  The Pretender.  This goes beyond the bragger. I refer to facebook as “fakebook” and this is why – it’s not real!!  It is not real life – it is “social networking”. We recently went camping and I could have only posted the 4 pictures where everyone was smiling and it was sunny and written “best trip ever”…but actually it rained almost the entire time and we spent more time in the tent cold and wet than we did outside…that’s real life versus fakebook!! Not every day is wonderful, not every picnic is sunny…unless you are the faker.
  4. The Pot Stirrer.  This person posts controversial stuff just to get other people riled up, whether it’s about politics, abortion, or taxes…they have highly opinionated posts day in and day out.  They cause many fakebook fights (which can actually be very entertaining). I don’t really think all the controversial posting is good for anything. No one ever changed their mind about a serious issue because of something they read on facebook. I’d rather skip the heavy stuff and just get along.  Agree to disagree and move on.
  5. The Seller. Buy my product. Like my page.  Join my team. Host a party.  I think it’s perfectly acceptable to advertise and let the FB world know that you sell something. But don’t bully or stalk people. It’s annoying.  If your business is THAT successful, then why are you cornering people on facebook to buy your stuff?
  6. The Teaser. “I can’t believe I let it happen again!”  “My heart is so broken” etc  They want attention. You know they are just dying for someone to ask  “WHAT HAPPENED?” – just so they can say what happened….so why not just post it int he first place without all the added drama?
  7. The Health Nut. I can appreciate a bikini body. I definitely don’t have one, and I know the effort that goes into it. However, that doesn’t mean the whole world wants to know about every exercise you do and every meal that you eat. Yes  – you look fit, No – we don’t need a picture of today’s protein shake.
About jenna

Jenna has been an oilfield wife for over 12 years. Her Hot Oil Man husband started working in the oilfield a few months before they were married. The oilfield has lead them all the way from Northern CO to Alaska, where they've lived in the Matanuska Valley for 4 years. The family consists of their two children; a strong-willed daughter age 10, and a goofy son age 7. And of course what family would be complete without a couple of dogs and rabbits thrown in the mix. Jenna is a stay at home mom who doesn't “stay at home” much, and enjoys gardening, baking, reading, watching movies, four wheeling, hiking, fishing, and LOVES shopping. Since moving to the last frontier they have also started home schooling, which is another adventure all it’s own.
