About rebecca

Becky and her family live in the beautiful town of Grand Junction, Colorado. She has been an OFW for almost three years, has a degree in Business Management, and works fulltime as a Digital Sales Manager for a local news station. She and her husband have one three year old daughter, Riley who is sweet, sassy, and even in heels and boas likes to pretend she is a dragon, that’s right ladies a dragon. In addition to work, Becky also volunteers on a fundraising committee for a local hospital, is a marketing chair member for a local not for profit, and helps pitch in at her daughters pre-school to raise funds. In her spare time (because she has SO MUCH of it) this OFW enjoys gardening, building projects on Shutterfly, cooking, golfing with her hubby, playing volleyball, and enjoying time on the lake with her family. It’s Not Good Bye, It’s See Ya Later

Over the past year I have shared my life, my experiences, my views, and my world as a working oilfield wife (OFW). I have expressed my thoughts on this crazy lifestyle, I have related my own role as a wife, and I have elaborated on my survival tricks as a mother, but today I am writing to say farwell. […]

Tips For A More “HOMEY” Rig

My husband works a two on two off hitch, so in theory he spends just as much time in his trailer at work as he does at our own home. My oilfield man (OFM) cooks, sleeps, works on his computer, and sometimes on occasion even catches a football game all from a lovely little tin […]

Always Going

Last night my oilfield man (OFM) called for our usual post-safety meeting, pre-dinner evening chat. We have been doing Face Time more and more and our daughter absolutely loves it! As silly as it sounds, it really does feel like we are all gathered around the table laughing and talking or sitting on the […]

Your DRAMA- It Hurts

I hate drama,  I hate caddy bickering, I hate back stabbing, but most of all I hate when it is within my family. Last week was a rough one. My hubby was gone, we were going on three weeks apart, he felt MIA because he was prepping for rig move, and I was having a […]

Stain Recipes, Anyone?

When my oilfield man (OFM) is away on his hitch our three year old daughter always wants to sleep in bed with me. I know some of the other Mommys of the world would frown on this, but I love having our daughter sleep in bed and snuggle with me when hubby is away. […]

Oilfield Wife REST & RELAXATION

My family and I just got home from a much needed and entirely over due family weekend at the lake. Besides my blazing red sunburn, a little bit of sand in the coolers, and a mountain of beach towels and bathing suits in the laundry hamper, it was yet another memorable weekend in the books […]

The Best Example of Self Sufficient is an Oilfield Wife

As many of you know I was a little MIA last week! In addition to wearing the hat of a working mommy and oilfield wife (OFW), I was also a Power Of Attorney last week for my oilfield man (OFM). The time restraints and unknown schedule of this lifestyle always makes any big life events […]

My Oilfield Life- A New Chapter

The fairytale continues for our oilfield family! Some of you ladies may recall my post earlier in the year about listing our home for sale. I love my sweet little town of Grand Junction, CO but I would be lying if I did not say that the economy, real estate market included is still down […]

The LOVE Of An Oilfield Daddy’s Girl

There is no denying the special bond between a father and his daughter and in our family it is no different. Our daughter has been a Daddy’s girl since day one, but over the past three and a half years I have slowly watched her become an oilfield (OF) Daddy’s girl. Even as a […]

Oilfield Home- For Sale By Owner

We are on the market! Today let’s chat about some real estate! Now, we as oilfield wives (OFW) all know that the state our husbands work in one moth could quite possibly be different from that they work in next month. I have found it is rare to find an oilfield wife that actually […]
